Q.What is Jack Nadel International doing as a company to be more Eco-friendly?
A.
JNI has implemented a number of measures across the company to move toward being a greener company. Since we are not a manufacturer, we focus on our sales offices and headquarters to reduce waste, encourage recycling, and promote reuse. For example, we have installed more efficient lighting. Employees all have recycling bins at their desks. Our computer system provides online reports so that we have been able to minimize printed reports and we use electronic invoices – inbound and outbound – where ever possible. And our IT department has recently started to virtualize our server infrastructure to reduce the number of servers to save on energy consumption and air conditioning use.

Q.What are some ways I can best reduce the impact on the environment with my purchasing?
A.
ORGANIC COTTON: Cotton is one of the most toxic crops on the planet. 1/3 pound of chemicals goes into producing 1 pound of cotton! Choose organic cotton instead.
RECYCLED FLEECE: Virgin polyester is made from crude oil. Recycled fleece is derived from used water bottles, and discarded second fabrics.
COMPACT FLOURESCENT LIGHTING (CFL): Replace one incandescent light bulb in every American household with a CFL (compact fluorescent light bulb) would prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the annual emissions of nearly 800,000 cars.
REUSABLE DRINKWARE: Plastic bottles from bottled water represent an ever growing waste problem. Providing your work force with reusable cups, glasses, and mugs and filtered water attacks this problem.
RECYCLE BINS: Show your company’s interest in making the world a better place by making it easy for employees to recycle.
